Harrison Ward Wicks is an emerging force in the music world, blending technical skill with creative curiosity. A multi-instrumentalist with a deep love for jazz, Harrison's musical journey continues to gain momentum as he pushes the boundaries of his craft.
While the trombone is his primary instrument, Harrison is equally at home behind the piano and guitar, constantly expanding his musical vocabulary and experimenting with new sounds. His versatility and dedication to learning have made him a standout among his peers
and an inspiration within his community.
Throughout high school, Harrison played a vital role in multiple Fergus High School ensembles, including the FHS Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, and Symphonic Band. Outside of school, he has become a dynamic contributor to the regional music scene as a member of the Snowy Mountain Big Band and the innovative group OH. His performances have taken him from the stages of Lewistown’s School of Music and the Centerfest Music Festival (voted Montana's Best Music Festival 2024) to New York City’s prestigious Jazz Arts Collective.
Harrison earned superior ratings at Montana’s State Music Festival in both 2024 and 2025, receiving top honors for his solo performances
and for his work with trombone and low brass ensembles, which included pieces such as Andante et Allegro by J.E. Barat.
In Fall 2025, Harrison will continue his musical education at The University of Maine, pursuing a degree in Jazz Studies as he hones his skills and prepares for the next chapter in his artistic journey. With passion, discipline, and a fearless creative spirit,
Harrison Ward Wicks is a rising talent to watch.
